Margarita (Margie) Salcedo Rice has been a resident of Mendocino County since 1985. She received a B.S. in Business Administration from Loma Linda University in 1982, graduating magna cum laude and was the recipient of the President’s Award. She went on to receive her MBA with an emphasis on Marketing from the Henry W. Block School of Management, University of Missouri, Kansas City, graduating magna cum laude; and in 2019 graduating with honor from, Concord Law School. At Concord Law School, Margie served as a Judicial Intern under Judge John Behnke, presiding judge for the Superior Court of Mendocino County during 2017. She also interned for Judge Jeanine Nadel, Judge Anne Moorman and Judge Keith Faulder. She currently is working as an Associate Attorney for Carter Rich PC specializing in real estate law, estates, wills and trusts, and civil litigation. Margie is a member of the Society for Collegiate Leadership & Achievement.
Margie is fluent in Spanish and English and has volunteered in numerous capacities in the Ukiah Valley area. Margie has been a member of the Governing Board of Adventist Health, Ukiah Valley Hospital since 2000 and is a member of the Board of Trustees for La Sierra University. She is the owner of Salcedo Rice Productions, specializing in music production and entertainment. She also served for 25 years as the Business Manager for a private medical practice specializing in Ophthalmology. During her graduate studies in Kansas City, Margarita worked at Shawnee Mission Medical Center as their Marketing Manager, General Accountant and Management Intern specializing in Marketing and Development in Kansas City, Missouri.
Her dedication to music continues on the local level. Margie is currently the concertmistress of the Ukiah Symphony Orchestra. This is her thirty ninth season with the symphony. She has also conducted and directed the annual “Glory of Christmas Cantata: which is now in its 32nd season and features the Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra from the Ukiah SDA Church and community. She has been featured with the Ukiah Symphony Orchestra, Loma Linda University concert series, and numerous other performance venues. She frequently solos with the Ukiah Symphony and chamber groups playing the violin and signing. Margie is also a recording artist having released three albums with her sisters, The Salcedo Sisters, and a solo album. She appears regularly on Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN), Loma Linda Broadcasting Network (LLBN), and Hope Channel, Christian satellite stations with a worldwide viewing audience. She has appeared on the popular voice of Prophecy Family Reunion Video and Concert Series since 1998.
Margie was born in St. Helena, California, to Ecuadorian parents, Fernando and Marta Salcedo. Her love for music was nurtured at a young age when she studied piano, violin and signing in choirs and small groups in Riverside, California. She is married to Geoffrey Rice, a local ophthalmologist and has three musically trained, married daughters, Jessica, Patricia and Elizabeth and four precious grandsons, Daniel, Giovanni, William and Julias. She currently resides in Ukiah, California
